After a trial run of its beer delivery test in Phoenix, Pizza Hut is expanding the program to 100 locations in Arizona and California.
So, how does it work?
Pizza Hut has developed a custom cooler to keep the beer cold during the delivery process. But about that beer….
Budweiser, Bud Light, Blue Moon, Coors Light, Miller High Life and Shock Top are the only options available, with two packs ranging from $3 to $4.50 and six packs ranging from $5.99 to $10.99.
For Coors Light, Blue Moon or Miller High Life, the delivery fee is waived for purchasers of six-packs. And customers will obviously have to provide age identification for the delivery to be approved.
Since the test started in Arizona (and must have seen success), Pizza Hut is offering this service to more Arizona locations including restaurants in Tucson, Glendale, Prescott, and Winslow.
In California, beer delivery is now available at participating restaurants in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Fresno, Riverside, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Santa Clara, the company said. As well as Southern California, restaurants in Anaheim, Huntington Beach and Redding will be adding beer delivery later this month.
Sorry, San Diego. You are not on the list yet, but Pizza Hut says more California locations will be getting the program soon. We will keep our fingers crossed for you all.
Pizza Hut said it intends to expand the beer delivery program quickly this year. Roughly 1,700 of Pizza Hut’s nearly 7,500 domestic locations already have liquor licenses. Pizza Hut operates over 16,700 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
The company previously said it is also considering adding wine delivery, but did not provide additional details on that rollout. Cabernet Franc with a pepperoni pizza or Rose with a Margherita pie. Sign me up!
