spoon.tech is a Vienna-based restaurant tech start-up that creates AI-powered tools to help restaurant operators systemize their processes and convert them into gamified training programs for employees to learn them. The startup was founded by ex-McKinsey consultant Daniil Klubov and full-stack developer Rares Bacila, who started their own restaurant, Tolstoy, in 2019. While running Tolstoy, they identified that the most crucial yet challenging element in operating a restaurant is managing its people: developing, motivating, and retaining them. Combining their experiences in business, tech and hospitality, they started spoon.tech, which leverages AI to help restaurateurs address this problem by simplifying processes and developing workforce with gamified training.
